The Moscow Kremlin is a group of civil and religious buildings at the heart of Moscow, overlooking the Moskva River to the south, the Red Square to the east and Alexander Garden to the west.
It is the best known of the Russian citadels and includes five palaces, four cathedrals, grouped inside an enclosure delimited by the Kremlin Wall, which includes the towers of the Kremlin. Its name has changed since the days of the Soviet Union synonymous of the Russian government.
Into the architectural complex are three buildings that are used as official residences of the President of the Russian Federation: the Palace of the Senate, the Grand Kremlin Palace and the Military Academy.
